Early Life and Education
Born on October 28, 1936, in the picturesque town of Paparis, Metropolitan Alexandros displayed a deep passion for theology from a young age. After completing his studies at the prestigious Ecclesiastical School of Corinth, he furthered his education at the renowned Theological School of the University of Athens. His thirst for knowledge led him to pursue a master’s degree in Orthodox Theology at the University of Cyprus, where he wrote a thesis titled “The Metropolitan Holy Church of Saint Basil of Tripoli.”
Metropolitan of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios
In May 1984, Metropolitan Alexandros was elected as the Metropolitan of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios. During his tenure, he established the Priestly Training School in Nafpaktos, providing a nurturing environment for future clergy members to develop their skills and deepen their understanding of the church. Additionally, he oversaw the launch of the church periodical “Ecclesiastical Temple,” which became a valuable source of spiritual guidance and knowledge for the community.

Under Metropolitan Alexandros’ visionary leadership, the School of Byzantine Music was founded in Nafpaktos in 1986. In January 1995, Metropolitan Alexandros was elected as the Metropolitan of Mantineia and Kynouria, assuming a new role in his spiritual journey. On February 26, 1995, he was enthroned in the Holy Metropolitan Church of Agios Basilios in Tripoli, where he continued to inspire and guide his congregation with unwavering devotion.
Participation in Pan-Orthodox Synod of Crete
