Tom Skinner’s journey began in Flint, Michigan, where he was born to Ted and Mary McEvoy Skinner. Growing up in Genesee County, Tom attended St. Mary’s High School, graduating as a proud ’49er. His thirst for knowledge led him to pursue higher education at the University of Michigan Flint, where he further honed his intellectual abilities.
Professional Career
Tom’s passion for teaching and coaching was evident throughout his remarkable career. For 31 years, he dedicated himself to shaping young minds and nurturing their talents. Tom’s impact extended to various schools, including St. Agnes, Powers, Holy Rosary, and St. Roberts. After retiring, he embarked on a new chapter at the Flint Auto Auction, where he contributed his expertise for 12 years.
Family and Personal Life
Tom Skinner was a man of deep love and devotion. He was preceded in death by his spouses, Mary McGovern Skinner and Doris Sulfaro Skinner, as well as his parents, Ted and Mary Skinner. Tom’s family was his pride and joy. He leaves behind his children, Susan Randall, Nancy Sather (Bill), Mary Fran (Brian), Joe Skinner (Debbie), and John Skinner (Lisa). Additionally, he will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Jennifer Deibert, Jeremy Juhl, Thomas Purdy, Laura Castle, Andrew Juhl, Madison Haller, and Caitlin Sather, along with his ten great-grandchildren.
