Sep 28th 2015!⃝I see this song as a metaphor for greed and the people who will always give them what they are greedy for. Let me explain.
"Well they encourage your complete cooperation,
Send you roses when they think you need to smile. I can't control myself because I don't know how, And they love me for it honestly, I'll be here for a while."
I see this as the greedy person obviously wants you to give them what they want, and some are very deceptive to get what they want, from "Send you roses when they think you need to smile". Now the person-or patient I guess- just agrees, which of course the greedy take advantage of.
"So give them blood, blood, gallons of the stuff! Give them all that they can drink and it will never be enough. So give them blood, blood, blood. Grab a glass because there's going to be a flood!"
This is the patient giving them what they want, and a whole lot of it, too! But,the greedy will always want more, resulting in just so much of what it is the greedy want, represented by the "flood".
"A celebrated man amongst the gurneys. They can fix me proper with a bit of luck. The doctors and the nurses they adore me so, But it's really quite alarming cause I'm such an awful f**k. (Oh thank you!)"
"The gurneys" I see again as the greedy people, as well as "The doctors and the nurses." In the song, it says how he is celebrated and adored by these things, which, if he always gives them what they want, makes sense. I see "They can fix me proper with a bit of luck." as a little cry for help, saying that he is kind of in a situation he can't really get himself out of, now that he has given the greedy so much, but with just a little luck, he could get out of it somehow. Also, the final line reveals that he is surprised at the fact that although he has given the greedy what they want, probably turning him into a pretty bad person because of the expenses that feeding them what they want, the greedy don't care and still like him, only because he still gives them what they want.
The final chorus in the song is almost the same as the previous one, but the final line "I'm the kind of human wreckage that you love!" reveals that the greedy people have worn him down to be even more vulnerable than he was before, making him an even easier target to get what it is they want.
But hey, what should I know about the meaning of songs, I'm only an eighth grader!
